Privacy Policy
Matrix Arena (“we”, “us”) runs Matrix Arena, a social app available at matrixarena.in, app.matrixarena.in and in our mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account details. Your name, username, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), phone number, date of birth, gender, the topics you pick, and your profile photo, bio and cover background. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
What you share. Your posts, photos, captions, comments, mentions, saved posts, and the people you follow.
Location. If you add a location to a post, we store that location with the post. You choose this for each post, and your device asks for permission first. Separately, we estimate your approximate area from your IP address so we can show you posts from nearby. This does not use your device’s GPS.
Usage and diagnostics. Information about how the app is used and reports when something crashes, so we can fix problems and improve the app.
How we use it
To create and run your account, show your feed and profile, deliver your posts to other people, show posts from nearby, keep your account secure (for example, verification codes and two-step verification), fix bugs, and contact you about your account.
Who can see what
Posts you share, along with your profile details such as your name, username, photo and bio, can be seen by other Matrix Arena users. Your email address, phone number, date of birth and password are not shown to other users.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising.
Services that help us run Matrix Arena
We use these providers to operate the service. They process data on our behalf and only for these purposes:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and account storage
- Cloudinary: storing and delivering photos
- Vercel: hosting our websites and counting visits to them (anonymous, no cookies)
- Google: “Sign in with Google”
- Resend: sending verification emails
- MaxMind: estimating approximate location from your IP address
- PostHog: understanding how the app is used
- Sentry: crash and error reports
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored in encrypted form, and you can turn on two-step verification in Settings.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and the data linked to it, email privacy@matrixarena.in from the email address on your account, and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your profile details in the app at any time. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent, by emailing privacy@matrixarena.in.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let you know in the app or by email.
